I, (Johanna Jacoba du Plessis) received my Reiki 1 and 2 degrees in the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of natural healing in 2011 from independent Reiki Master, Barry Keyser and my Master/ teachers degree in Reiki from Sue van Heerden at the Dragonfly Weave energy healing school in Bloemfontein. http://www.dragonflyweave.co.za/index.php

The origin of Reiki can be traced back to ancient Tibet, thousands of years ago. This technique was rediscovered in the late 1800's - early 1900's by Dr. Mikao Usui of Japan.
Reiki is a hands on healing system where the therapist works with universal energy to balance and heal the body’s endocrine and chakra systems.
During a Reiki treatment the client removes their shoes and lies on the healing bed. The therapist works by placing her hands lightly on or just above the client's body to rebalance the energy field, concentrating on problem areas.
Different people experience the Reiki energy in different ways. Some of the most commonly experienced sensations during a treatment are warmth, tingling, heat, and pulsing.

I also work with crystal grids during the session to facilitate healing. Crystals work on a principle known as sympathetic resonance. All bodies in our universe consist of vibrating energy. The energy resonance of a crystal is more stable than that of a human body and therefore different crystals help to re-align different chakras and emotional fields as our emotions are stored in an electro-magnetic field around our bodies, created by the beating of our hearts
